Whatever else this story will be, I think it's going to be a heartbreaker. What happened to Tony Ray, what mistake he made, the price he paid-- I think we're going to see those things here. I wonder if I'll have the heart to read it, let alone comment on it.

Secondly:

Mulefoot,...great page,..and a nice beginning to a most-likely disconcerting story (not that the rest of the tale hasn't been wonderfully disconcerting)... I especially like how Tony-Ray's pose is mirrored in the two different panels, both now and back then...

Young or old, he's nervous and uncomfortable in both. The terrible taste of his actions, both then and now, cling to him.... And sitting before these persons makes him feel too exposed,...unprotected. His arms MUST come up to help create a shell around him... But even that can't hide him from their judgmental gaze....

And really...sitting in front of some muscular critter with a flat top behind a desk could put anyone into a defensive body language set. *Grins*
