Can just imagine Sam's music player paused at 7:19, just 1 second until the climactic denouement of Bolero. To make it that far and not finish the piece would make me irritated too!

"Shock the pool" Such a dry insult. It's adding enough chlorine to carpet bomb any biological contaminate. It is done if algae has gotten out of control or if someone was incontinent.

Segio is smarter than I thought, but Sam would only allow competent employees.

Gator = reptile. Check out the bacteria content of Komodo dragons*. I'm surprised Sam didn't order the pool burned and filled in.

*Dragon saliva teems with over 50 strains of bacteria, and within 24 hours, the stricken creature usually dies of blood poisoning.

I didn't catch the "shock the pool" insult, probably since I never had one-- that's good. In fact the whole story line is good.

This page does a brilliant job of highlighting Sam's competence, too. I was wondering how Sam was going to explain away the embarrassment of Uthy showing up uninvited. How he was going to explain it to his wife and the Sergio the pool boy. It never occurred to me that he already HAS handled it by picking "employees" who are fully competent themselves, therefore able to handle about anything that might be thrown at them. With the right people, you don't have to explain anything. It's already taken care of, long before it happens.

Meanwhile, we have Uthy, vicious, dangerous, out of control, strong, with fearsome natural weapons for attack or defense. And Sam, who is slower to act, seriously wounded, and largely incapacitated by some serious pharmaceuticals. All the strength is on the one side, the vulnerability on the other. Poor Uthy.
