Well, obviously, Sam took old Muley's advice to heart. Too bad he had to start thinking while he was in the shower.

A lot of introspective things running through Sam's mind.

And obviously Kate's having the filters adjusted. ;-)

Uncle.

Fiddlesticks indeed!

Tony Ray has been keeping up on things more than he should have, apparently. If 'that old monster' managed to surprise even Sam, that's all the more impressive. Better watch out. The sledgehammer might have a bit of scalpel about him too.

Or at least razor blades, but that's another story. Which we might hear more about, shortly.

And the drawing is delicious. I like all the characters- visually. As for personality or the color of their souls, maybe not so much, but that's the Slop universe, isn't it?

And Sam always calls in in advance even when he's headed home. Don't want to set up a Scene when Kate's getting her ashes hauled.

Apropos of which, what does her tattoo say?

Sammybadger don't care... However I approve of shower scenes and fiddlesticks.

Wonder if this is the same out of the way truck stop where a certain "straight" bear goes to use the glory holes.

And is it my imagination or is Sam sporting a chubby there in the shower?

No, Cucuy tends to cruise the sleazier ones.

And actually, I was trying to draw Sam flaccid and somewhere between numb and ashamed in order to contrast the pool boy who's having a great time.

Now you mention it, what >does< pull Sam's wire? We know how the pig gets his kicks, but what sets Sam off?

If I read Sam right, nothing. He had a mission to perform, and he agreed to do it-- maybe for patriotic reasons; patriotism is one of the favorite hooks of our self-appointed betters use to lead us around and make us suffer or die for them. In any case he took the job.

It didn't involve selling his soul. It involved burning a little bit of his soul every day, until the day came when he looked inside and found there was nothing left. They're a fine pair, Tony Ray and Sam; the monster and the walking dead man.

You know who Sam reminds me of? Cancer Man, from the X-Files. Only Cancer Man could still get angry, at least, and he cared about football, of all things. (Cancer Man: "I couldn't care less. What I don't want to see is the Bills winning the Super Bowl. As long as I'm alive, that doesn't happen.") There was that much of Cancer Man left. I think Sam is even more burned out than Cancer Man was. There's nothing inside there any more.

Sam did tell his wife that he loved her when chatting with her on the phone, even knowing what she and the pool boy were up to, and knowing that she very likely knows that he knows.

Maybe she's just a trophy wife; his sole reason for still being with her is to keep up appearances. But then again what does he care about appearances? Sam doesn't strike me as the type that has many friends. Specially not ones that would be constantly trying to fix him up with someone if he were alone for too long.

Ah think ya might have meant this page as to Sam's thoughts about his wife.
