Here is a piece about everyone's favourite cold-hearted Brock...
Samech - 2013 by Trevor Patrick, based on characters and scenarios from SLOP by Mulefoot and © their creator.

SAMECH
Some will pray for salvation, While others pray for advantage- The thing Samech Pallister prays for most of all, Is to some day forget the damage.
There once was a time he felt alive, But those days were long ago... Before the walking wounded became the walking dead, And all his dreams turned cold.
113 - I hate VAIN thoughts: but thy law do I love.
Sam has learned more hard lessons in a single year, Than most face in their entire lives- And one lesson he learned both fast and early, Is that vain thoughts exact a mortal price.
And the law he loves above all others, Is the simple law of Entropy. Everything falls apart and is eventually recycled, That's just the way it has to be.
114 - Thou ART my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
Sam's hiding place and shield are not his own, Yet all the love he's able to bestow- Is for his two daughters from whom he hides his pain, So they can have the life he'll never know.
115 - Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.
Some equate good with order, and evil with chaos, But Sam knows that's a narrow view- Too much of either upsets the equilibrium of society, That's his single, greatest truth.
Taking care of the 'good' is something he leaves to others, For the business he takes care of is his own: The unwanted variables, which keep the equations from balancing, All nullified when into the system, the proper entropy is thrown.
116 - Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
Though he's lost so much, he still has hope, Even if he can no longer hold it for himself, The only real pleasure that's still his own, Is satisfaction at every job that turns out well.
117 - Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
Sam's greatest strength, Which outweighs his others by far, Is that he long ago learned to accept, That many things in this world simply ARE.
And all the anger in the universe, Is nothing but wasted heat, And all the tears, pleas and wishes, Are simply cast before his feet.
118 - Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit IS falsehood.
Truth is Sam's most valuable currency, Even truths that take terrifying shape and size- He'll entertain no falsehood, no matter how sweet, For you only dirty yourself with lies.
119 - Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth LIKE dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.
The Hebrew letter Samech is a bow with drawn string, Just as Delta S denotes a change in Entropy, The P that yields Pallister, also denotes Power: Pushing the Judgement arrow that Samech's bow does release.
120 - My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
And for all the mortal judgements that Sam has dealt, It's nevertheless usually the greatest mercy he can give- All too often it's a far worse judgement, Should Samech allow you to live.
