Interestingly--

Headline in area newspaper Editorial section:

"Republicans need Carol moral"

Thought I'd split my sides.

"Be careful what you wish for....... "

Very interesting..
In the article the conclusion is:
"I have finally come to the conclusion the moral to the "Christmas Carol" perfectly represents the requirements needed to bring about the conversion of a Republican to a Democrat!"

But that's not the point "Christmas Carol" makes.
Scrooge was chastised for relying on the government 'Work Houses' for the poor.
It wasn't that he wasn't paying his fair share of taxes, but he didn't have any personal charity in his heart.
That he needed to be part of society and not have the government be the provider of social well being.
Which is what the Republicans feel.
The Democrats are perfectly happy with Work House.. I mean welfare.

Awww--
Now you've gone and ruined it for me.
I wanted to see more Congressmen in the Ewes, er, News. Going deep, getting to the bottom, pumping for information.

Never cared that much for Dickens. Never really lived up to Expectations, too many Hard Times in Eng. Lit. class for me.......

Much as I normally loath to drag politics into a forum, this little tidbit pretty well sums up what's wrong with things these days.

It's rampant and it's on BOTH sides, Just that "Boner" has become the best of the best at doing the worst of it.

Well actually.... It was in response to this comment:
Quote:

I just wanted to point out that the real problem with our government isn't "us" ve "them" it's the whole mind set of "how is this going to profit me?"

Perhaps I should have made it more clear that I wasn't taking sides, just pointing out a common flaw.

Uncle.
