Tony Ray's philosophy of life! Nothing wrong with a liar and faker if they're honest about it.

I'm always trying to understand Mulefoot's Philosophy of Victims, trying to make them deserve their fate somehow. The faulty epiphany I had when I saw this was "Aha! Tony Ray kills them because he can't stand a liar and a faker that isn't honest about it! But no. Tony Ray is akin to a force of nature. The tornado flattens the church full of worshipers, goes down the road and kills some group of honest people too. No judgment, no remorse, just a sudden loud noise and then silence. Tony Ray is like that too, except perhaps for the "no remorse" part. I think perhaps he feels remorse, if he does feel it, it isn't enough to stop him.

Definitely damaged goods, Tony Ray. And fascinating as always.

It's good to see a new page, especially when it's so well done.

Snickers, paying for sex, like with your wife. She won't suck his dick.

I wonder if RIta would?

It's for damn sure Mirian would. And you know that's who he's fantasizing about.

I wonder if the hooker know just what "Time's up" could mean.

Uncle.

Really, only the dishonest women got their tickets punched. The honest whores seem to be regarded as binnisspeople, just like the pig. She's safe for the moment.

Until Pommy gets her, littljohn.

The shade of Mirian haunts Tony. Asking why her is like asking what is it about canids that attracts the vepr - just his kinks. Those cravings have nestled into his brain and become a part of his identity as just another need. Que the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)" for any ramblings about Tony's psyche... though, if Trent Reznor did a remake of the song I'd totally que that instead. Um... where was I?

Tony & MIrian! Was she the first? Certainly not the first victim, the first fantasy, or the first fuck, not by a long shot. Probably not the first one to get away either. No, no, no. Was Mirian the first Tony let go completely from his control, out of his reach and out of his world? The dhole everyone seemed so fond of doesn't register a blip in Tony's thoughts and Rita seems more an afterthough to the vepr like reciting three Hail Mary's for repentance. Something sets Mirian apart from the rest.

Mirian was no more than a brief encounter and an even briefer daydream yet her memory has a hold of Tony. Did Tony believe that if Mirian's life turned out roses that he would be a better person? "If Mirian has a better life because she met me then I made that possible and I am not a wanton monster," seems to be screamed out from the subtext, but that seems too simplistic considering the depth of the character Tony and the cleverness of the author Mulefoot. The vepr sent Mirian off with his hope but when his rosy expectations were dashed he seemed to give in to his lust for her.

I know there's something around the next corner but damned if I know what that is. Mulefoot's story has so many irons in the fire that it has become damn near impossible to figure out which way the story could turn and how it connects to who else. But the one thing that still bugs me is whose body is that back at the creek?

Perhaps Tony did send Marian off in the hopes that his 'good' act would provide some better karma for him.
But when his 'good deed' was thrown in the mud and stomped on by her...

http://rustedtusks.com/slop/index.php?v ... 4&p=5&nc=1

He now has some unfinished business to conclude with her.
Tony is probably feeling on the edge of an all too familiar abyss.
His getting himself beat up helped for a while, and so did helping Rita.
He is wanting help, reaching out to the VA to perhaps to get some psyc help.
But they never heard of Tony Ray.
Now he's once again 'on the ropes' and has too many questions.
While he was thinking about Marian while 'porking' the prostitute, I don't think he was projecting her onto the nice lady of the evening.
He was more likely trying to flush her from his thoughts, if only for a few moments.
Maybe Sam can help, maybe not...
He has to try something before he's lost.

Yep,...I'm in the exact same boat...

The questions about that body return to my mind often...

Sam may be wondering about that body soon himself.

That's delightfully appealing to me!

I always love seeing more of Sam...

I'm beginning to wonder if Mulefoot chooses victims, or if people stumble onto or are nearby when Mulefoot has a trigger event that sets him off.

Indeed! It does seem like all the victims we have seen so far are merely the "unlucky ones" or the "foolish ones",...as opposed to the "chosen ones"...

One could argue that Brice was chosen, considering how long they spent with one another prior to the attempted violence, but then again, Tony Ray didn't go looking for him, he just sort of "ran into" him, and the little fox fit the bill in one respect or another... Oh,...and he never fell over that final ledge into permanent victim-hood...

He was chosen, but no one knows why, we've seen Mulefoot ask himself why he didn't kill Bryce. I'd like to know why jealous, obsessive Pommie hasn't.

Oh that's easy.
Pommie has no idea about Brice. If he did...Brice could be in trouble. On the other hand...when you see the next page...

"That's just wrong" scenario #1:

Sharp report of a high powered rifle.
Uthalla's brains spatter all over Sam as her lifeless remains slip into the pool.

Sam makes a note to drain THEN shock the pool.

We see a fleeting shadow driving off in a van. Not sure if it's Pommie or not.

Uncle.

Sam is aware of Pommie, and knows how to use him to best advantage. And Uthy is still a suitcase and two pair of boots as soon as it's safe for him to do so. People looking for headlines should become headlines.
