'It's Tony Ray, Rooter, Mulefoot.' 'My friends call me Mulefoot.' Mulefoot introduces himself three times seemingly on a more personal level each time. Does this mean that he considers himself a friend to Sam but is not sure that Sam sees things the same way? It almost seems as if the statement is a plea for connection.

Sam it not the only one that sees Uthy's slipping performance. Sam also notes a 'sloppy' (No pun intended) performance in Red River, but is he critiquing Uthy or himself?

Do only Sam's real friends call him by his proper name Sammech? If so I fear Tony Ray may have fewer friends than he thinks.

His wife and mother call him Sammech...
Everyone else, that wants to keep both lungs, call him 'Sam'.
And it looks like we might get an answer what Sam meant in frame 5.

Ah! Thank you Ramsey.

Is it me or does Sam profile in the flashback you provided resembles Mulefoot's? A hint about who introduced him to cigars?

And they even smoke the same brand...Black Truffle. What an odd coincidence.

Goldfinger said "Mr. Bond, we have a saying in Chicago: 'Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time, it's enemy action."

I don't believe in coincidence in any world YOU write, Mulefoot...

Which dovetails nicely with what I've said all along, "There is NO wasted ink."

Uncle.
